The online quiz competition carrying prizes worth Rs 2500/- has been launched from 16/11/2010. The event will be open to all and will have quantitative aptitude, reasoning and analytical questions.

Technical Paper Presentation
We solicit technical papers from students, academicians, researchers and/or industrial persons on themes that come under the broad areas of alternative energy and energy efficient technologies. The author/s of selected papers will be invited for presentation at the National conference. Subsequently, the selected papers including the invited ones will be published in the conference proceedings.
The papers should based be on one of the subthemes given below:
* Solar Thermal Systems
* Solar Photo Voltaic Systems
* Wind Energy Systems
* Tidal Energy Systems
* Geothermal Systems
* Ocean Thermal Energy Systems
* Fuel Cells
* Magneto Hydrodynamc systems
* Alternative Fuels
* Energy Conservation and Management
* Systems to Improve Energy Effieciency
* Energy Storage Systems
Best Paper
The best paper presented during the conference, as selected by the Technical committee, will bag a prize money of
Rs 5000/-
The judgement of the Committee will be final.

Receipt of complete papers : 15-11-2010
Communication of Acceptance : 15-11-2010
Paper presentation : 19-11-2010,

National Conference on Alternative Energy and Energy Efficient Technologies
The Mechanical Engineering Department of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology is happy to announce its annual technical conference to be held on 19th & 20th of November, 2010 - NAVISSANCE 2010.
Navissance, a blending of the words Navitus (Latin word for "Energy") and Renaissance (meaning "New awakening"), represents the thrust area of the conference, alternative energy.
Energy is fundamental to the quality of our lives. Now-a-days we are totally dependent on abundant and uninterrupted supply of energy for living and working. It is a key ingredient in all sectors of modern economies. The conference intends to provide a platform for showcasing recent developments and stimulating knowledge transfer among academicians, professional engineers and students.
Navissance 2010 comes with a diverse package of events. It features technical competitions with a net prize money of Rs. 20,000/- at stake.
